Security & backups
The everyday protections every small business should have: multi-factor sign-in, backups with a tested restore, updated devices and access that matches who works for you.

The problem
Small-business security is mostly the basics, done consistently.
Trouble often starts somewhere ordinary: a reused or phished password, an account nobody switched off, a laptop that hasn’t updated in months, or a backup that turns out not to restore.
We set up those basics properly, check that they work and write down what is in place. It is practical protection sized for a small team, not an enterprise security program.
What’s included
What security and backups covers
01
Multi-factor sign-in
On email first, then banking, payroll and key apps, with recovery options so nobody is locked out.
02
Backups with a tested restore
Automatic, off-site backups of email, files and key systems, and a restore we actually test.
03
Device updates & protection
Automatic system and browser updates, and built-in protection such as Microsoft Defender confirmed on.
04
Access review
Admin rights limited to named, current people; former staff and vendors removed.
05
Offboarding checklist
Email, file and app access removed as soon as you tell us someone has left.
06
Written documentation
What is protected, how, and what to do if something goes wrong, in plain language.

Questions
Common questions
Are you a managed security or 24/7 monitoring provider?
No. We set up and check practical, everyday protections for small teams. If your situation calls for round-the-clock monitoring or a formal compliance audit, we will say so early and help you work out what to ask for.
What does a “tested” backup mean?
We restore real files or a mailbox from the backup to prove it works, and note what was restored and how long it took. A backup that has never been restored is a hope, not a plan.
Will multi-factor sign-in slow my team down?
A little, at first. We set it up with authenticator apps or prompts, show each person how it works, and set up recovery options so nobody gets locked out.
Do you work in the Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace admin settings?
Yes. Many of the important controls, such as multi-factor sign-in, admin roles and sharing settings, live in those admin consoles, and we configure them there.
